Round 3 brings us to Misano ! A technical track by nature . These cars will make good use of all that extra downforce on these flat 'zero camber' turns !
This will be a Twilight race with in game start time of 7:30 pm 'local' so the sun will be setting & the track side lights may come on . Be ready for what ever this may bring !
I'm sorry @Rob Milliken, I can't make another one
We will miss you ! does this mean you cant make any of the remaining races or just the next one ?
Just this one. You can count on me for the rest of the series
Just a couple of quick questions.
Does the newer mod still have the issue with refuelling? In other words, does it take 45 minutes to put ten litres in? lol
What's the tyre life like on this version of the cars?
Sorry I will do some practice, just been very busy at home at the moment and had some livery requests from people.
I've never driven Misano before but a finish will be enough for me to start with
EDIT: Just been watching some of the onboard DTM cams from last year. Quite a busy circuit with braking and turning which is interesting, lots of cars running off-circuit but if I remember it was damp/wet last year which probably didn't help!
I have been working on bringing my livery over from the other version of the mod, but at the moment I'm not sure if I'll get it finished, I'll try my best!
My only wish is I hope the developers incorporate the new shaders, I've been testing them out on the S397 cars and they are a great addition to the title.
Nice to be racing these cars though, they are great fun and have become a bit of a regular on SRO which is great.
No refueling , its using like F1 rules , aprox time for tire changes is around 10- 15 sec's ! & yes this track is pretty technical ! the back hi speed right handers can be taken full on tho
Be careful on the cuts, a lot of guys had penalties last race.. Was it 2 warnings and then a stop/go penalty ? I was surprised on my 1st... and double on my 2nd trip to the penalty box!
Race day PW is set ! find it on the CHAMP page
To win this race you need nerves of stele and balls of brass !
I do not know if I'll be able to participate tonight .. pity
Me too. Not sure what I will be in time. If I late, can I race without Q from last position?
Hi, I’m battling away to join the server but nearly there.
Not sure why but there must of been an issue with the mod as I couldn’t join the server.
Couldn’t remove it from the packages utility as the SRO mod race setup was now using it so had to manually delete all the files.
Then re download the original URD mod and re install that, then re install the DTM pack. Lol
Taken me over and hour and I still haven’t done a single lap in this car yet. Sometimes the sim racing gods just hate me. Haha.
....and I finally get on the server and my pedals don’t work (again). Trying a restart now...
Stupid go-cart track with decreasing radius corners and speed bumps that rip wheels off <Rant over>
Well I put high downforce on, softened up the suspension a little for the zero height kerbs.
However I had too moments in the second lap. 800 seconds repair time.
Thought I’d mapped an engine off switch but I didn’t. So engine cooked itself.
Wasn’t enjoying the track at all anyway. Fair enough it’s on the calender but I was struggling badly.
Well done for those turning up. Will look forward to the next one.
Rob, what the hell man! A night race?! I lost track of all my brake markers and was spinning all over the place
I had a 14 second lead man!!!!!!! This might be a good time to tell you I'm nightblind LOL!
Fun that, thanks all. Great race for 4th/5th last few laps until a lapped car started racing us both and i was too chicken to try a pass. I presume blue flags are turned on?
First race in VR so well happy to get to the end without incident
many lags during the first 3 laps of the race,
hard to keep up.
never had this problem before.
Race lasts for the little training, I apologize to Bruce for the crash at the first corner but the problem was the cold brakes, because in the training session you need to warm up the brakes that the tires, however in the end the ninth place I took and I managed to keep Meshkov in the final laps which was very correct. See you at the Norisring track that I love, 3 curves but fun
Car got wrecked on the large speed bumps, killed the engine and it would not restart. No problem Paolo, I almost ran into Xavier who was in front of me so I was braking pretty hard myself
Im.very happy race on misano , and thank s alls drivers for correct
