is the Spa Server active??
The Spa server will be active from tomorrow morning untill next sunday
thanks, i wont be able to get on then
You can try tomorrow
There will be a test race to make sure all your stuff works on the server and to test your setup.
It's not mandatory to join, but it is highly recommended;
Server name: SRO Spa Test Race
Track: Spa Francorshamps
Date; sunday 19 august
Time: 20.20 BST
Use the practise password: https://www.simracingonline.co.uk/racing/eventinfo/631
Qual; 20.00 BST for 15 minutes
Racetime; 20.20 BST
Race length; 45 minutes
Weather; dry and sunny
Server is up.
I'm running into an issue with this track online. The car goes into slow motion after a few laps before Eau Rouge and in sector 3.
Let me know if you get the same problem. This was already mentioned by another member.
I'm gonna wait and see what happens during the testrace.
Worked fine for me online before.
But I will try it again offline with 35 AI later tonight, to see how that goes.
(I actually always do that before a race if I haven't raced on the specific track, to see how the performance is.)
I am hoping to have time to jump in the server this evening before my race in the other league I am in.
Will report back once Ive had a chance to test .
Was online just now for a quick test, and for me all seemed fine. Alone on the track, of course.
I just jumped in the server and ran about 10 laps. I noticed zero issues and basically all my laps were within .3 to .4 of each other .
I was getting the same slow down issue as you at Spa because I had everything on high. I googled the track and it seems it's very demanding on the CPU, so this is what I did and it seems to work;
Post Processing = none
anti aliasing = 2 x
all shadow settings = low/med
al quality settings = low/med
and what ever else you need to lower
also disable all replay
If it really is so CPU intensive wont it cause issues on the server maybe when 32 cars are running?
Also the reason for it being CPU intensive must be some sort of bug, as it does not seem that extremely detailed at all.
As a comparison, I have my settings pretty much maxed out with no issues. The anti-aliasing is handled by my GPU interface as per suggestions Ive read for best performance and graphic quality.
Ryzen 5 1600X CPU
Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X GPU
no idea what you talking about.
Sorry, I'm mixed up with someone else
That's another reason that we're doing the test race. If the track fails, we still have time to change the event.
Hi @John vd Geest
I think it is me .
And I didn't solve the problem yet. It is "under construction"
I found this advise in the conversion notes for the track:
-turn shadows to medium or less
-turn environment reflections down
Also, since it wont rain, disabling the rain will give you a massive performance boost. As it has to load the shaders for rain, even if it does not rain.

If the Spa track gives us any problems with lag (because of the high CPU usages + number of drivers), be prepared for the possibility that we will change the track.
